Lilavati, Jaslok start with fluent victories

Lilavati Hospital registered a comfortable 123-run victory against Bombay Hospital in the first round Group-C league match of the Route Mobile Inter-Hospital Cricket Tournament 2024 and played at the Saraswati Sports Complex, Malad.

Electing to bat, Lilavati Hospital amassed a massive total of 259 runs for 3 wickets from 20 overs. Dharmesh Swami cracked an unbeaten 79 runs (47-balls), Siddhesh Gharat contributed a solid 75 (29-balls) and Manohar Patekar added 53 runs to prop their innings. In reply, Bombay Hospital were restricted to 136 runs for 6 wickets from their 20 overs. Shriram Teli managed to score an unbeaten 70 runs (43-balls) and Mayuresh Patil made 41 runs. Lilavati bowlers Vishal Shinde 2 for 14 and Parag Jadhav 2 for 19 claimed the wickets.

In the second match, Jaslok Hospital managed to carve out a 43-run victory against Kasturba Hospital to record to start on a winning note. Jaslok Hospital, choosing to bat first, did well to reach 196 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Shrikant Dudwadkar 76 runs (41 balls) and a quick 33 runs from Rakesh Valentra propped up their innings. Deva Munde 3 for 38 was Kasturba Hospital’s best bowler. Later, Jaslok Hospital dismissed Kasturba Hospital for 153 runs in 19.4 overs. Kalpesh Bhosale was the leading batter with 41 runs while Pravin Morajkar took 3 for 29 to seal Jaslok’s win.
