Leading from the front striker Lester Mascarenhas notched up a fine hat-trick, which helped Mount Carmel (Bandra) record a comfortable 5-0 win against Immaculate Conception ‘C’ (Borivli) in the 44th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana Annual Rink Football Tournament 2024, played under floodlights at the WCG courts.
Amir Sayyed and Arif Qureshi netted a goal each to complete the winning tally.
Meanwhile, in a close encounter Our Lady of Gloria ‘A’ (Byculla) fought hard to snatch a 3-2 win against Our Lady of Dolour’s (Wadala). Calvin Vaz, Joshua Jadhav and Pratik Patil scored a goal each for the winners. Tyson Patel and Silvester Serrao struck a goal each for the losing side.
In the third match, St Blaise ‘A’ (Amboli) enjoyed a fruitful outing by getting the better of Holy Cross (Kurla) 2-1. The Amboli outfit was better organized and enjoyed more ball possession. They also had more chances, and converted two through Harold Fernandes and Dustin D’Costa to secure the win as Aditya Shinde struck for Holy Cross.
