KSA forfeit 2-goal advantage

Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) let their guard down and squandered a commanding 2-0 advantage and were forced to share honours with U, Mumba FC in an Elite Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2018-2019 and played at the Cooperage ground on Wednesday afternoon. Sunny Thakur and Roger Sam were bang on target for KSA before U. Mumba scored through Leander Dharmai and Mayur Suvare to salvage a point.

The Karnatak SA outfit started in their usual attacking fashion and snatched an early lead when dashing striker Sunny Thakur with a neat finish scored the opening goal in the very fifth minute.

Having tasted success KSA continued to mount pressure on U. Mumba citadel and were rewarded with the second goal midway through the first period when prolific scorer Roger Sam finding the back of the net to give his team a 2-0 half-time cushion.

However, KSA defenders were unable to keep the rival attackers in check and allowed two goals, the second from a clumsy backpass, to leak through and dropped two valuable points. Leander Dharmai reduced the deficit in the 53rd minute before Mayur Suvare capitalized on a costly defensive lapse to score U. Mumba’s equalizer in the 80th minute.

Result – Elite Div: Karnatak SA 2 (Sunny Thakur, Roger Sam) drew with U. Mumba 2 (Leander Dharmai, Mayur Suvare).
