Karnatak Sporting Association (KSA) were forced to drop two points as they were held to a 1-1 draw by a determined Alpha Football Academy in a Group-C league match of the Karnatak Sporting Association organized 3rd Late Shri Vishwanath Anchan Memorial Veterans’ football tournament 2019-2020, at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan on Wednesday.
Host KSA took a first half lead when their prolific goal-scorer Santosh More found the net in the 10th minute. Alpha FA did well to snatch a later equalizer through Sankar T. in the 39th minute. KSA now has 4 points from 2 games and Alpha have 2 points from their second draw.
Earlier, Anton Saldanha scored once in each half to lead Golden Gunners to a 2-0 win against Bandra Packers. This was Golden Gunners second win in Group-B, while Bandra Packers suffered their first defeat after their 3-0 win against ABC Malad.
In the third match of the day, holders Central Railway and strong contenders Mumbai United played out a goalless draw in Group-A.
