Attacker Kritika Chhabra, of RSB Arya Vidyamandir (Juhu) , has been in roaring form this season, having a couple of hat-tricks and braces of goals to her credit. Today she went one better as she notched up five goals in a row to deflate Mount Mary (Goregaon) 6-0 to storm into the U-17 quarterfinals of the DSO Mumbai Suburban District level Inter-School Football Tournament, organized by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at at St Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali today.
After Urvashi Maheshwari opening the scoring just few minutes into the match, Kritika took over and with teammates lending solid support, went on to demolish the spirited but feeble challenge of their rivals with a spate of goals. She hit the target twice in the first half and added three more in the second half.
However, another Arya Vidyamandir outfit from Bandra, had to fight all the way before they subdued CNM (Vile Parle) 3-2 via tie-breaker. Helped by a brace by Disha Parmar, Carmel of St. Joseph (Malad) beat St John The Evangelist 5-0.
