Dribbling past a couple of defenders time and again , Kritika Chhabra notched up a hat-trick (all in the first half) to take her school RSB Arya Vidyamandir (Juhu) past St. Andrews junior college into the girls under-17 semifinals of the Subroto Mukherjee Cup football tournament (for Suburban schools) of Maharashtra government’s DSO (Divisional Sports Office), organized and sponsored by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at St Francis D’Assisi high school ground (Borivali) ground here today.

Kritika repeatedly made inroads from the start itself and with her other teammates lending good support, she hit the target thrice before the half time. Even thereafter, the Juhu girls continued to attack and could have added a couple of goals more, but for the opponent’s goalkeeper, who made some good saves a couple of times.
Strongly favourite St. Francis D’Assisi were given a spirited fight by Thakur VM & Junior College, who prevented them to score at the regulation time before they won 2-1 in the tie-breaker in the boys under-14 quarterfinals. However, there were no such problems for Bandra’s St Stanislaus, who beat Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Chembur 3-0, with all the goals coming in the first half itself.
