Kheya Shah( MSD) had a tough time in both Women’s as well as Youth Girl’s singles 2nd round, before moving into 3rd round in both events of the JVPG-3rd Maharashtra State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament which got underway at their premises here today. In the women’s singles Thane’s Shreya Deshpande lost the first two games to Kheya over extra points, but took the next two games to equalise the set score 2-2 only to lose the decider and match . In a similar situation, Kheya after winning the first two games against Shanika kadam( MCD) had lost next two games, but recovered to beat her in the decider.

Junior Ananya Basak, daughter of former national champion Arup Basak, the top seed in ther youth girls singles, made short work of Mumbai city’s Krisha Agarwal 11-6,11-6, 11-4 to advance into pre-quarterfinals.
