Kenkre record 3rd win


Growing in confidence, Kenkre FC maintained their good form as they produced another superb display of attacking football to record a classy 2-0 win over a subdued Pride Sports, Jabalpur in a fifth round Group-C league match of the Second Division I-League at the Cooperage ground.

Nigerian striker Yao Bernard hammered in both the goals to finish the win for the Mumbai club and maintain their unbeaten record. Kenkre had also won the away match with a 1-0 verdict early this month.

This was the third win for Kenkre, who now have 11 points and are firmly placed in the top position in this pool. Fateh Hyderabad AFC who defeated Ozone FC, Bengaluru 2-1 are in second place with nine points followed by the Bengaluru side with seven points and Pride Sports last without a point.

After a barren first half, the dashing Nigerian scored the opening goal inside the opening 15 minutes of the second half and five minutes later added the second to complete the win.

Kenkre finish the pool engagements with a home match against Ozone FC on Friday, February 24.
