Following their success in the opening round game against fancied Ozone FC, Bengaluru last week, Kenkre FC are keen to sustain the winning momentum when they hosts Fateh Hyderabad FC in a second round Group-C league match of Second Division I-League at the Cooperage ground, here, on Friday evening.
In the previous round, Kenkre after falling in arrears 0-1 showed solid determination and fought back splendidly by scoring two quick goals through Yogesh Kadam (61st minute) and Rajib Ghorui (65th minute) to turn things around and clinch a deserving victory which helped them to earn all the three points. Sabeeth Sathyan had given Ozone a 56th minute lead.
Kenkre coach Oscar Alva sounded pretty confident that his team will give a repeat performance and come out trumps against the Hyderabad side. “I expect another good performance my boys and confident that I will get a positive result for the team,” Alva said.
Meanwhile, Fateh Hyderabad would also be looking to extend their winning run after defeating Pride Sports FC, Jabalpur 2-0 in round one.
The Mumbai club strikers, Kadam and Ghorui have to once again be sharp upfront and will once again have to captitalise on the opening to score goals which would help to win the match.
The home side has no injury issues as all the players and fit which gives coach Alva the option to field the best possible team for the challenge against the Hyderabad club on Friday. The match is schedule to kick off at 3.30 pm.
