22nd Late Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football
Karnatak Sports Club shared the spoils as they were engaged in a thrilling 1-1 draw in a first round league match of 22nd Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football Tournament 2017-18, organised by the Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.
In a evenly contested match, the Karnatak outfit managed to take the lead through their hard-working forward Roger Sam in the 22nd minute. But the Jaihind players seemed unfazed by that setback, instead they regrouped and launched a series of attacks on the rival goal and 15 minutes later they managed to get the equaliser with striker Sebastian Raj finding the back of the net.
Both teams were forced to settle for a division of two points.
Results: Karnatak SC 1 (Roger Sam) drew with Jaihind SC 1 (Sebastian A. Raj).
