Defending champions Ghatkopar Jets were well served by opener Karan Nande (55) and Ajinkya Belose (42) to help their side to comprehensive seven wickets victory over Thane Marathas in the Mitsui Shoji 5-Team League here at Police Gymkhana ground, on Thursday. It was Ghatkopar Jets second win, having earlier beaten Thane Marathas in the first leg.
Karan Nande was adjudged the man-of-the-match for his all round performance in the Mitsui Shoji T20 Cricket league, , receiving the prize from Mr Manoj Bhoyar.
Both Karan and Ajinkya stroked fluently as the pair put on 98 runs for the second wicket to bring Ghatkopar outfit just 15 runs away from their target of 124. Earlier, Thane Marathas , but for opener Omkar Gurav’s flawless 69 off 68 balls, batted poorly and were shot out for 124.
With their top order batsmen clicking with opener Jiniv Joshi (62), Manish Rao (51) and Alpesh Ramjani (52) in their element, Bandrs Heroes made light of Mumbai Police City Riders score of 211 and romped home in 17.5 overs. The Policemen’s total was boosted by opener Sunil Patil (46) ,Shrikant Limbole (47 ) and skipper Santosh Shinde’s unbeaten 37.
