Juhu Heroes blast Mulund Blasters

Openers  Vipin Chaurasiya and Tejas Solonki set a MMPL record of sorts by hammering an unbeaten 82 runs in just 5.5 overs to steer Juhu Heroes to a 10-wicket win over Mulund Blasters to  top Pool B in  the 8-team  SAI-Mumbai Masters T-20 League, powered by Paradigm Reality, at the Police Gymkhana’s floodlit ground here last night.

Batting first, Mulund Blasters, trying to go all out  in the allotted 16 overs, went hammer and tong right from the first ball. But their ploy failed badly as Juhu bowlers bowled good line and length to curb their aggression. All that  Mulund Blasters could achieve in the end were  81 runs for the loss of nine wickets. And in reply, the Juhu Heroes openers Vipin and Tejas  batted as if they were to catch a flight and ended with flurry of fours and sixes to finish the tie in 5.5 overs.

In pool A, table topper Worli Pitch Smashers  were in for a shock when Borivali  Warriors, thanks to whirlwind 75 by their skipper Niket Korgaonkar with 11 fours and three sixes, made 192 for six. Chasing 193, the Worli batsmen failed to match the  deeds of their rivals and ended up with 141.
