JSF beat MCC(Red) to bag trophy


 

JSF (Jwala Sports Foundation)  defeated  two-times champions MCC (Red) by 51 runs for their maiden triumph in the  B4S MCC PRO – 40 double-leg 5-Team  league here today. The holders, who were going for a hat-trick of titles, were thus deprived by the aggressive allround display of the JSF boys.

Put into bat, JSF batsmen, with their top-order batsmen, led by Arsalan Oberoi (68), Aryan Chitroda (45), Ayaz Khan (40) and |Rahul Chjoudhari (38) hit up 230  in their allotted 40 overs. Chasing 231, the defending champions tried their best, but due to hostile bowling by Rohit Wagh (3/17), Vedant Patil (3/41) and Vishal Singh (2/24),  they were dismissed for 179 in 36.3 overs.

 

However, their allrounder  Dashrath Chavan, who was the highest scorer with 404 runs in the league  and captured 14 wickets was adjudged the Man-of-the-series.. The other prize winners were: Best batsman: Ayaz Khan (395 runs); Best bowler : Vedant Patil  (18 wickets).

 

While JSF proved to be worthy winners, as they were the most consistent team,  having topped the league with 7-1 record in the 5-team league. Their  solitary defeat came  against  MCC (Blue) in the league phase, finished  at the top of the table.
