Lefthander Dev Shroff, a 14-year-old lad from JLTTA (Jayesh Lakhani Academy) put up splendid show , while lowering the colours of seasoned Dheeraj Rai and Shaurya Pednekar before the defending champions fought back to wrap up the tie 3-2 in the MSDTTA 1st division inter-club table tennis leagu, hosted by Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana here today. It was YMCA’a third win in the league.

Dev gave JLTTA a flying start by beating Shaurya Pednekar 13-11,11-6, 4-11, 11-8 and later scalped Dheraj 11-5, 4-11, 7-11. However, both Shurya and Dherraj redeemed themselves by winning their respective e ties against Varun Sheth. YMCA’s other win came through Sumed Mattu, who dropped a game before scoring over Maanav Mehta 3-1.
Last year’s finalist and strong contenders for the title the Nishaah Shah led Santacruz Gymkhana notched up their second win, by routing Kandivali Recreation Club 3-0 for their second win.
