Devansh Jariwala of Garware Club House and Omkar Gore from Chiplun, both enjoyed a good roll of the balls and easily won their respective best-of-5-frame second round encounters in the BSAM Grassroot Snooker Challenge 2018.
Jariwala potted fluently to brushed aside Bombay Gymkhana’s Rishi Sangani 3-0 (52-14, 61-42, 60-32), while Gore was steady with his shots and outshone Swaroop Pillai from Thane 3-0 (63-56, 60-23, 53-46), at the NSCI Billiards room.
Park Club’s Sanjiv Bijlani and Malabar Hill Club’s Nitin Banka also tasted comfortable second round success. The seasoned cueist Bijlani quelled the spirit challenge from Dhruv Pagaria by coasting to a 3-0 (56-32, 43-36, 55-41) victory, while Banka had a much easier time in getting the better of Otters Club’s Nilesh Sangar 3-0 (54-19, 46-33, 47-9) without much ado.
In another second round match, Matunga Gymkhana’s Percy Patel put to good advantage his vast experience to prevail over Prabdeep Singh of MIG CC, winning in four closely fought frames at 3-1 with the frame scores reading 67-61, 29-54, 54-43 and 59-50.
