Jambusaria and Sutaria star in MCF twin wins

Skipper Rohan Jambusaria led by example as he played consistently and along with teammates Mehul Sutaria and Akshay Gogri ensured defending champions Mandpeshwar Civic Federation (MCF) won both the home 445-326 and away 431-414 fixtures against Elphinstone Cricket Club in Section-A during the fourth round of matches in the Billiards & Snooker Association of Maharashtra (BSAM) organized Greatwhite-CCI Kekoo Nicholson Mumbai Billiards League 2023.

Rohan Jambusaria was in good nick and inspired Mandpeshwar Civic Federation to win both their matches against Elphinstone CC in Section A.

The cool and composed Jambusaria was certainly on a roll and after making three notable breaks of 50, 40 and 35 on the home tables he stamped his class with a century break of 101 points and an unfinished 70 to win both his matches. His fine showing inspired both Gogri who constructed a run of 49 at home and 76 in the away match. The experienced Elphinstone CC stars Mahesh Jagdale, Anurag Bagri, Sunil Jain and Cyrus Mistry tried their best, but were unable to capitalize on the chances and fell short of clinching a win.

Bombay Gymkhana also enjoyed a rewarding week by defeating Chembur Gymkhana ‘B’ 613-487 (away) and 631-567 (home) also in the same section. The Bombay Gymkhana’s stalwart Rishabh Kumar along with Vishwajit Mohan both comfortably won the first two matches in the away and home ties and that left Kaizad Fitter with the task of finishing off the match in the third match of both fixtures.

In another match of the same section, seasoned billiards cueist Chandresh Shah along with his teammates Manvir Sohal, Ashish Rawal and Rahil Patel produced a collective effort to defeat the formidable Malabar Hill Club 628-599 and 592-545 in closely fought matches. Malabar Hill Club’s Manav Panchal made a break of 58, while Rajeev Sharma compiled runs of 66, 34 and 54, but their fine efforts went in vain.

In Section-B, Loukic Pathare, Vishal Madan and Nikhil Lalwani all three successfully won their two matches and helped Chembur Gymkhana ‘A’ overcome MIG Cricket Club 571-448, 570-503.

Fancied Cricket Club of India went down fighting to NSCI ‘A’ 422-474 and 481-505 in another match of the same section.
