The brilliant combined all-round performances of middle-order bat Sairaj Patil who smashed a century knock of 101 runs and off-spinner Shashank Attarde five for 29 runs were highlights as Jain Irrigation emerged champions by defeating Dr. D.Y. Patil Group ‘B’ by a massive 120 runs in the ‘A’ Division final of the MCA Corporate Trophy 2023-24, organized by the Mumbai Cricket Association and played under floodlights at the MCA Cricket ground, BKC on Thursday night.
Put in to bat, Jain Irrigation powered by Patil aggressive 45-ball innings which was studded with nine well-timed boundaries and eight powerfully struck sixes which helped Jain Irrigation amass a competitive total of 242 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Besides Patil’s thumping knock Ayush Zimare and Surah Shinde contributed 48 and 25 runs to swell the total. D.Y. Patil’s Ajay Singh 2 for 46 and Jitendra Padwal 2 for 60 were the most successful bowlers.
Later, Jain Irrigation bowled well and fielded brilliantly to dismiss D.Y. Patil batters for a measly 122 all out in 17.3 overs. Attarde with slow delivers did most of the damage and he received good support from Darshan Mangukiya who claimed 3 wickets for just 12 runs to hasten D.Y. Patil collapse. Middle-order bat, Parikshit tried to put up a fight a scored an unbeaten 55 runs (43-balls, 9×4,8×6).

Patil Group ‘B’ 122 all out, 17.3 overs (Parikshit 55* (43-balls, 9×4,8×6), Musheer Khan 18; Shashank Attarde 5/29, Darshan Mangukiya 3/12). Result: Jain Irrigation won by 120 runs.
