Mumbai Customs were on a high and cruised to a fluent 7- win against Sports Authority of India (SAI) in a one-sided Super Division match of the Mumbai Hockey League 2022-2023, organized jointly by Hockey Mumbai City and Hockey Mumbai Suburbs, and played at the Don Bosco High School Hockey Turf, Matunga on Wednesday.
The highlight of Customs’ comprehensive win was the clinical finishing of Ikidar Ishrat who slammed home four goals, while Aniket Gurav struck two goals and Alden D’Souza chipped in with one to round off the winning tally.
Sports Authority of India after conceding an early goal to trail 0-1 did well to score the equalizer through Raj Pawar. But, thereafter, Customs scored at regular intervals to run away with the match.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, CTC (Creating The Champions) faced quite a strong challenge from a youthful Sports Authority of India (SAI) and did well to score a hard-fought 1-0 win. Hritik Gupta scored the all-important winning goal to seal CTC’s second win in the league. CTC had defeated Mumbai Customs in the opening match.
In Thursday’s match, Central Railway will play against Maharashtra State Police at 4.30 pm.
