Indoor Under-22 Cricket World Cup begins in Australia


The World Indoor Cricket Federation (WICF) has organized the Indoor Cricket World Cup in Australia from 8 to 15 October 2022. Eight countries including India, Sri Lanka, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, UAE, and Singapore have participated in this tournament. Teams from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand along with India have participated in the under-22 age group.

The Indian Indoor Cricket team has been playing under the auspices of the Indian Indoor Sports Foundation since 2010. The Indian team is strong amongst the Asian teams. The Indian team finished fourth in both the last consecutive Indoor Cricket World Cups held in 2014 at New Zealand and the 2017 World Cup in Dubai.

India’s men’s first match against England will start on October 9 at 11:30 am. The second match will be played against Singapore on October 10 at 7:30 am. The third match will be played against World Cup title contenders Australia on October 10 at 1.30 pm. The fourth match will be played on October 11 at 5:30 am against UAE while the fifth match will be played against Sri Lanka on the same day at 1:30 pm. The sixth match will be played on October 12 at 1:30 pm against New Zealand and the seventh and final league match will be played on October 13 at 1:30 pm against South Africa. The semi-finals will be played on October 14 and the final on October 15.

India Under-22 team will be played against Australia on October 9 at 3:30 AM IST. They will be played against South Africa on October 12 at 7:30 am and New Zealand on October 13 at 7:30 am.
