Indian Girls led by Swastika bag Gold for India at Belgrade,Serbia


After the fine performance by our Indian men and women Table Tennis players at Asian games , now Indian Junior Girls have also been doing well at ITTF World Circuit tournaments.

Yesterday, our  Indian Junior Gils team led by  Navi Mumbai’s Swastika Ghosh along with Mumbai’s Diya Chitale and Indore Girl Anusha kutumble bagged the GOLD  for their country in the team event at at the ITTF World Circuit at Belgrade Serbia.  They beat  Singapore in Final 3-1.

Earlier in the semi finals their team beat Slovakia 3-0.  In this match,  Swastika caused upset when she beat Slovakian girl Ema Losoba in the first match 3-1. Just a day before, Ema  had won  bronze medal in the individual events.

 

In other  semi finals India’s 2nd team  comprising of  Prapti Sen , Poymantee Baisya  and Radhapriya Goel  lost to Singapore, by a narrow margin to bag Bronze medal.

 

Day before yesterday Swastika partnering Diya Chitale had bagged the Bronze medal for country in the Open Double event . They reached  semi finals  beating the  Chinese pair 3-0,  in semi finals
