India U-17 team to take on WIFA Select


The Indian team that is preparing to participate in the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup will play a friendly match against a WIFA Select XI at the Cooperage ground on Monday, December 21, 2015. The match will kick-off at 6.00pm.

The Indian team is currently training in Dubai and is expected to return to Mumbai on Sunday.

A couple of the probable players in the Indian team are from Maharashtra. They are Gaston D’Silva, Sourabh Meher, Aniket Jadhav and Manav.

The WIFA team will comprise of a mix of under-15 and uunder-17 players from the 6 clubs from Maharashtra which are participating the I-League competitions. Kunder Chandra is the coach and manager of the WIFA team.

Following is the WIFA team: Piyush Joshi, Shaikh Yunus (both DSK, Pune); Aryan Singh, Mark Mendonca, Jay Bhawani (all Kenkre FC, Mumbai); Abel Fernandes (Steadfast, Mumbai); Md. Shahad, Cladio Nongpluh, Aryan Irani, Sachin K., Ishan Dey (all Pune FC); Akaksh A Jadhav, Aniket Panchal, Sahil More, Richesh Patil (all PIFA); Harshal Tandel, Nikhil Prabhu, Ishan Khandwal, Kamran Ansari, Clivert Miller, Meet Jain, Sameer Kashyap(all MFC).
