India First Insurance defeated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) by 21 runs while L&T beat Mazgaon Dock by 9 wickets in their respective A Division first round match in the 14th Insurance Oriental Plate shield T20 cricket tournament played at Cross Maidan on Friday.

Opener Prem Mehta fine half century knock of 53 runs (45-balls 2×4,2×6) and useful contributions from Dattaram Hindalkar 17 runs, Ankit Shastri 11 runs Sanket Teli 11 Helped India First pile up a total of 139 for 9 wickets from their 20 overs. BMC’s Santosh Gajre 3/30 was the lone successful bowler. In reply, India First restricted BMC to 118 all out in 18.4 overs. All rounder Jitesh Purabiya top-scored with 34 runs, while India First right arm medium pacer Sandeep Shetty 4/31 picked the wickets.
Batting first Mazgaon Dockyard Managed a substantial total of 139 for 8 wickets from their 20 overs. Faizan Welder 39 runs and Amol Panchal 24 runs lifted their innings. Rahul Joshi And Jay Shah picked two wickets each for L&T. Later, Jayesh Patil 53 runs not out, Kunal Salvi 40 and Akash Palande 37 not out proved to be decisive for L&T victory. Santosh Pawaskar picked up the sole wicket 1/30.
