Kenkre FC and Hope United FC shared the spoils as they played out an exciting 2-2 draw in a well-contested Premier (Private) Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) football league at the Neville D’Souza ground, Bandra on Friday.
While Kenkre quickly settled down and scored two early goals to grab the advantage, Hope United did not lose heart. Instead they fought back and managed to strike twice late in the match to force a honourable draw and split two points.
Kenkre rocked the Hope United goal in the sixth minute through Abhijit Thaware to take the lead. Two minutes later, Thaware was again on target scoring the second goal to give his team a 2-0 cushion.
Hope United did not give up without putting up a fight and managed to score the first goal through Sunny Thakur in the 85th minute before substitute Rishi Chauhan scored the equalizer in additional time.
