The Hong Kong girl Tin Yan exhibited a wide range of strokes and played some fine deceptive shots, but was unable to hold her nerves and struggled against the Mumbai-based Aryaa, who bravely chased every ball and managed to keep the rallies long and to put up a strong fight. But after the scores were level at 2-all, Tin Yan finally managed to come to grips with her game in the decider and slowly but steadily gained the lead. Aryaa seemed to lose focus and committed a couple of mistakes, even hitting the tin from the front court as Tin Yan went on to win the game and wrap up the match at 9-11, 11-6, 9-11, 11-4, 11-8 in over 43 minutes.
