MSSA Inter School TT at PTKS, Vile Parle
Hiranandani Foundation School scored a tight 2-1 win over Gokuldham School in the Sub Junior Team Championship ( Under 12) team event of Mumbai School Sports Association’s Inter School Table Tennis tournament which began today at Prabodhankar Thackeray Kreeda Sankul , Vile Parle East. This was the only closely contested team match in this event. All other pre quarter final matches were one sided. In the quarter finals of Boys Under 16 team event too, there was only one closely contested match between JNS and Ryan Int. School , which JNS won with the margin of 2-1.

School, Powai 2-0; Lakshadham H.S. beat Ryam International School, Malad 2-0; Rustamjee Cambridge Int.School beat Bombay Scottish Mahim 2-0; RSB AVM beat D.Y.Patil Int.School 2-0; JNS beat Ramnivas Bajaj English H.S. 2-0.

Results of Quarter Finals of Team event Boys (Under 16 ):
TCJC beat Trinity 2-0; Aditya Birla School beat Dr. D’ Silva School 2-0; Dhirubhai Ambani School beat Bombay Scottish 2-0; JNS beat Ryan Int. 2-1.
Earlier in the morning the tournament was officially inaugurated by chief guest Mr. Arwing Prabhu , President of Prabodhankar Thackeray Kreeda Sankul , in presence of Mr. Wiron Vaz Vice President of MSSA, Secretary Mr. Arthur Fernandes , MSSA and Mr. Sebastian also from MSSA. Guest of honour Mr. Yogesh Desai from PTKS was felicitated on this occasion for his overall performance in State ranking Veterans’ events this year and for his recent performance at the World Veterans Championship event at Doha, where he won a Gold and Silver medal in individual doubles and singles event respectively.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Vaz explained how MSSA was conducting Inter School tournaments in 20 different sports without any help from Government or other organisations. Chief guest Mr. Arwind Prabhu highlighted the initiatives taken by his club to promote different sports for the past 21 years and how the game of table tennis was being promoted with the help of Samir Bhatye and Yogesh Desai . He also thanked MSSA for selecting PTKS as the venue for Inter School TT meet this year. Others present on this occasion were MSTTA Committee member Suhas Dandekar and PTKS TT Secretary Samir Bhatye.
