Bombay YMCA’s Heeva Patel, winning five golds in the girls under-9 section, emerged as best swimmer in the Greater Mumbai Amaetur Aquatic Association’s Lower Age Group Swim meet, held at Khar Gymkhana. Yesterday. While the boys under-9 section was dominated by Pratyakshvir Parmar , of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Sports Sankul, who captured four golds and a silver medals.
Heeva triumphed in all the five events, viz 100m individual medley (01:38.42 secs), 50m freestyle (0039.61); 50m butterfly (00:46.48); 50m breast stroke (00:52.28) and 50 m backstroke (00:47.31).
Among boys, Pratyakshvir Parmar , unlike Heeva, however did have to bring out his best against his rival, Abir Seth from Goregaon Spots Club before he took golds in 50m backstroke (00:44.17), 50m breast stroke (00:50.74), 50m butterfloy (00:40.00) and 100m individual medley (01:36.46). The only event where Abir pipped him was the 50m freestyle stroke.
