Defending champions HDFC Life and last year’s finalists TCS (Tata Consultancy Service ) opened their campaign in style in their respective group A and group B with impressive wins in the 4th Inter- Corporate Table Tennis League-cum-knock-out Tournament, hosted by P3 Sports Management at Khar Gymkhana here today.

HDFC Life notched up two good wins, beating Godrej 3-2 with Suraj Chandrasekhar winning both his singles, and then teaming with Yash Doshi to clinch the all-important double. They later followed it by routing IProspect 3-0, while TCS after struggling to beat HDFC Bank 3-2, thrashed Indo Star 3-0. For TCS , it was quite a tough going against HDFC Bank as they trailed 1-2 before Aakash Damle brought them into the tie with a hard fought 3-2 win over Aditya Tawde in the reverse singles and then Deepak Vishwakarma outplaying Amod Nayyer to steer his side to clinch the semi final spot..

Group B: TCS bt HDFC Bank 3-2; TCS bt Indo Star 3-0; HDFC Bank bt Alright Solutions 3-0; Indo Star bt Alright Solutions 3-0.
