Harsh bags men’s sprint double; triple for Rahul in boys U-20


Harsh Rana frm Sprinters Sports Club bagged  men’s golds in the 100m and 200m events to emerge as the fastest sprinter in the 3rd Five-Districts Open  Track and Field Championships, hosted by India Masters Athletics  at the University Stadium, here today. Harsh brezzed past Shabhaz Khan (Agnel Gymkhana) and teammate Suraj Shetty to win the 100m gold in 10.88 secs.  And in the 200m final,  Harsh pipped Pawan Dahiya from IIT Bombay (Powai)  at the post clocking 22.34 secs.

However, Pawan, the IIT Bombay lad,  finished  strongly in the 400m run, leaving Deepu Nanu (Navi Mumbai Sports Club) and Nagesh Rajbhar (Agnel Gymkhana) high and dry to clinch gold in 48.55 secs.

 

The boys under-20 section was dominated by Rahul Kadam, of Ryan International .

Rahul proved to be class apart while winning the 100m (10.97secs), 200m (22.37secs) and 400m (48.74 secs) events.  Whileintheboys under-128, Nazir Abdul from Navi Mumbai Sports Club ended with a double. Winning gold in  the 400m and 800m events.

MEN: 100m: Harsh Rana (Sprinters SC) – 10.88 secs. 200m: Harsh Rana (Sprinters SC) – 22.34  secs 400m: Pawan Dahiya (IIT Bombay (Powai)- 48.55 secs. 1500mn: Deepu Nanu (NMSA, Vashi) – 4:15.36 secs., Long jump: Tejas Salian (Seven Stars, Thane) – 6.88 mts.

 

BOYS U-20: 100m: Rahul Kadam (Ryan Int) – 10.97 secs. 200m: Rahul Kadam (Ryan Int) – 22,37 secs.  400m: Rahul Kadam (Ryan Int) – 48.74 secs. 800m: Aashish Singh (Ameya  Classic Club)- 2:05.24 secs. 1500m: Karan Mali (Uran Gym) – 4:23.37 secs.

BOYS U-18: 100m: Jai Bhoir (Agnel Gym, VAshi) – 11.08 secs. 200m: Preet Surve (Seven Star SA) – 23.33 secs.  400m: Nazir Abdul (NMSA, Vashi) – 2:07.70 secs.  800m: Nazir Abdul (NMSA, Vashi) – 2:07.70 secs.  1500m: Jobin Jason (Ryan Int.) – 4:28.78 secs. 3000m: Rohit Mandavkar (Achievers SC) – 9:48.84 secs (NMR).
