Indian Grand Master Harika Dronavalli continued her winning streak after her loss in Round 5 as she went on to win her game in Round 7 against Tuvshintugs Batchimeg here in the Icelandic Capital in the Reykjavik Open late on Monday.
The World No.11 Indian even though she was up against the lower rated International Master from Mongolia had to work really hard to prevail in the game.
“My opponent made a small mistake in the opening phase of the game which made it easier for me,” the Guntur lass said. “Even though she made a mistake, I had to convert it very accurately and won after a five hour long strategic battle,” she added.
Harika now has a total of five wins, one draw and a loss apiece which has seen her amass a total of five and half points to be comfortably on the 14th position.
The Hyderabadi will take on the 24-year-old Turkish Grand Master Mustafa Yilmaz in her next round battle.
