GuruTeghBahadur hockey from18th


The Mumbai Hockey Association Limited (MHAL) will be conducting the PMC Bank-Guru Tegh Bahadur Gold Cup All India Hockey Tournament on their astroturf ground, Churchgate from August 18 to 27, 2015. The 11th edition of the tournament, is being organized under the auspices of Hockey India, and is being sponsored by Punjab & Maharashtra Cooperative (PCM) Bank.

The top 10 teams from the country will fight it out for the top honours in this competition, which will be played on a round-robin league basis. The 10 teams have been divided into two groups and the top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. There will be a ‘Rest Day’ on Tuesday, August 25th. Both the semi-finals will be played on
Thursday, August 26 and the grand finale is scheduled to be played on Friday, August 27.

The participating teams are Army XI, Western Railway, BPCL, ONGC, South Central Railway, Indian Oil, Air India, Northern Railway, Central Railway and Union Bank.

Hockey India has deputed 13 officials, including five from Mumbai to officiate and ensure the smooth conduct of this tournament. Faiyaz Qureshi from Indian Railways has been appointed Tournament Director and Sanjay Bhatia of Delhi as Umpires Manager.

The Groupings – Group-A: Army XI, Western Railway, BPCL, ONGC, Union Bank

Group-B: S.C. Railway, Indian Oil, Air India, Northern Railway, Central Railway.
