Showing good understanding and working well as a unit, Mangalore Blues SC romped to an emphatic 7-0 win against Uchil United SC in a first round league match of the 21st Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Football League Tournament 2016 –2017, conducted by The Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.
Leading the charge for Mangalore Blues were strikers Royston Veigas and Lekhraj Kotian, both striking two goals each, while teammates Rahul Poojary, Aditya Shetty and Aaron Machado, all contributed a goal apiece to round of the winning tally.
In another league encounter, Jai Bharat SC also enjoyed a good outing as they handed Jai Hind SC a 3-0 defeat. Jai Bharat were well-served by strikers Aakash Rathod, Rashid Shaikh and Prajwal Kotian, all chipping in with a goal each to seal the victory.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Gaurav Ramanath Payyade and Devdas Shriyan former Bank of India player and coach, who also represented the Maharashtra team as a player and also as the Head Coach.
