Four PJ Hindu Gymkhana teams had entered semi finals of the Pro Table tennis Tournament , being held in the memory of Vasant M Chimpulkar. Today evening PJ Hindu Gymkhana team led by Prakash kelkar defeated their home team comprising of Prakash Punjabi, Pinakin Sampat and J.D.Maheshwari, while their other team led by young Soham Rane overcame their other well balanced home team of Sanjay Nemlekar, Saurabh Mohite & Tanmay Rane.

But, Prakash Punjabi and Pinakin Sampat put up a stiff resistance before going down 1-2 in the three set semi final encounter against evergreen Prakash kelkar and his cool and calm partner Premjit Nananavre. Pinakin stretched Prakash kelkar to five games before losing his first match. But, in the second match partnering with hard hitter Prakash Punjabi his team won the doubles to level the scores at 1-1. The deciding match once again saw 5 games battle between Prakash Punjabi and Premjit, which Premjit won, taking his team into finals of team event. In the finals, they will take on their junior brigade comprising of Soham Rane, Parthav kelkar, Shubham Ambre & Om Lotlikar.

In the Veterans’ Singles Finals favourite Prakash Kelkar will face the challenge of Rajesh Singh. The Girls singles 3rd round matches saw easy victories scored by Manasi Chiplunkar,Krisha Agarwal, Aditi Sinha & Vidhi Dhoot, while in the Cadet Boys’ singles 3rd round Jash Modi and Havish Asrani also scored easy wins.
