Goalkeeper Florian Pereira was livewire in Apostolic Carmel (Bandra) ’s exciting 4-2 win over Borivali’s Mary Immaculate in the girls under-17 final of the DSO Mumbai District level Inter-School Football Tournament, organized by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at St Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali today.
The final was well fought as both went all out to find the target, but failed to beat the tight defence of their opponents. However, the tie-breaker proved to be a goalie Florian Pereira show as twice she prevented the ball from going past her and then she herself took a shot which brought them victory.
A goal apiece by Sai Sankhe and Diya Parikh saw Arya Vidyamandir (Juhu) beating Dhirubhai Ambani International (Bandra) 2-0 in the girls under-14 final.
