Future Star worked hard for their fighting 2-1 win against Kenkre FC in a Women’s Super Division match of the Mumbai Football Association (MFA) League 2022-2023 and played at the Neville D’Souza Ground, Bandra on Wednesday morning.
Striker Punam Kumari scored the first goal in the 46th minute to give Future Star the lead before Atisha Saini doubled the lead in the 63rd minute. Kenkre FC scored a late consolation goal through Nishika Prakash.
Earlier, D’Souza FA proved too strong for Rising Star Uran, charging to a 9-0 win in another women’s match played on Tuesday. Striker Divya Basantani scored a hat-trick of goals and Tanishka Das scored two while Kretina Dangma, Gautam Hamsda, Sonali Gode and Jyoti Kumari scored one each to complete the winning tally.
Result – Women’s Super Div: Future Star 2 (Punam Kumari, Atisha Saini) beat Kenkre FC 1 (Nishika Prakash).
D’Souza FA 9 (Divya Basantani 3, Tanishka Das 2, Kretina Dangma, Gautam Hamsda, Sonali Gode, Jyoti Kumari) beat Rising Star Uran 0.
Young Guns FC ‘B’ 2 (Cynara Mendonca, Tracy Monis) drew with Rising Sun FA 2 (Niti Ladha 2).
