Fancied Fr Agnel from Malad thrashed Thakur International (Kandivali) 4-0 in the under-14 group ‘B’ tie to storm into the pre-quarter-finals of the DSO’s (Divisional Sports Office)’s Mumbai Suburban (Taluka) Football tournament, organized and sponsored by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at St. Francis D’Assisi ground, Borivali, here today. The winners, who led 3-0 at the breather took things lightly and could add just a solitary goal in the second half. While the Thakur outfit tried their best, but could not pierce Fr. Agnel’s defence.
In other ties, Malad’s Ryan International (CBSC) , thanks to brace by Karmanya Sharma, defeated Willy International 4-0 and Billabong put out Kapol Vidyamandir 3-1 and Dahisar’s Universal after being held goalless by Thakur Vidyamandir junior College, triumphed 3-2 via tie-breaker.
