Ratish Chachad who played Table Tennis for India in the 60s is no more. He passed away today morning. He was 85. Ratish and his wife lived with his son and his family in Canada. He was not keeping well for the past few months.One of the finest TT players of his time in the company of other star players like Dilip Sampat, Sudhir Thakarsey, Gautam Diwan, Farrokh Khodaiji& Jayant Vora, Ratish made his presence felt at many national and international level matches with his all round game.
In 70s and 80s he played the role of Indian TT team Coach and had many friends all over the world. Ratish had good collection of old photographs and used to share them on his social media page regularly. He had very good memory of many past matches and used to recall most of his memorable matches including those of his TT friends who played for India. Before migrating to Canada along with his sons, Ratish used to train many youngsters, who later performed at the national and international level. He was very popular among many TT players, because of his friendly nature.
His funeral service will be held on February 7, 2023 at 2.45 pm ( Eastern Time US & Canada). With his sad demise, TT fraternity has lost a loving cheerful personality. Our heartfelt condolences to his family members.
