Khelo India Youth Games
Kenisha Gupta from Mumbai bagged three Gold medals in Girls U-17 Swimming while Vaishnavi Pawar from Satara bagged a Gold in Girls Under-17 Weight Lifting events at the ongoing Khelo India Youth games, at Balewadi, Pune. 15 year old Kenisha after winning Gold in 100 m butterfly, went on to bag two more Golds in 200 m individual medley and 100 m freestyle events, while Vaishnavi the 9th standard student of Anant School, Satara who had a tough competition in her U-17 Girls 81 Kg event left behind Gayatri Reddy of Andhra Pradesh, who had to satisfy with Silver.

In the Boxing event, Maharashtra’s Aakash Gorkha and Mitika Gunele moved ahead with their respective wins over Manipur’s Laishangbam singh and Lucky Rana respectively. In the game of Kho Kho, Maharashtra recorded impressive wins over Tamilnadu & Delhi in both Boys and Girls Under-21 events respectively .Another win was recorded by Boys U-17 when they defeated Delhi 14-9. With the ongoing notable performance, hosts Maharashtra stayed on top of the table with 166 medals – 59 gold, 48 silver and 59 bronze.
