Football Club Mumbaikars dropped their guard down towards the end and conceded two soft goals to suffer a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) in the AIFF Under-18 Youth League 2018-19 Pre-Qualifiers (Maharashtra Zone) in a late evening match at the Cooperage Ground on Friday.

Coached by former Indian skipper Steven Dias, FC Mumbaikar did well to hold position and matched the rival RFYC equally shared the exchanges till the end of the first half but both sides failed to score a goal during the opening period.
FC Mumbaikar looked an improved side from their previous outing against Football School of India where they conceded defeat by a similar margin.
However, RFYC found a window of opportunity in the 78th minute through Gulab Rauth to go one-up and then RFYC skipper Muhammed Nemil Valiyattil struck the second goal through a free kick from just outside the box after FCM midfielder Pratyaksh Pathak had committed a foul. Valiyattil with a direct shot converted from the free-kick to steal the show for the Young Champs.
