Freunds Sports Club recorded an authoritative 3-0 win against Labbaik FC in a Third Division match of the MDFA (Mumbai District Football Association) League 2015-2016 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Monday. Dominating the proceedings from the outset, Freunds scored the goals through Fahad Shaikh who netted a brace and one by Janak Thakur to seal their victory.
In another match of the same division, Kenturians FC and MTNL (Mahanagar Telecom Nigam Limited) shared the spoils as they played out a 1-1 draw. Kailash Damankar was on target for Kenturians, while MTNL got their goal through the efforts of Riyaz Tange.
In the third match of the day, Alfa FA and P.D. Hinduja SC also shared honours and they were engaged in tame goalless draw.
Result – Div-III: Freunds SC 3 (Fahad Shaikh 2, Janak Thakur) beat Labbaik FC 0.
Kenturians FC 1 (Kailash Damankar) drew with MTNL 1 (Riyaz Tange).
