Bombay Republicans scored two goals in each half, all from field efforts, to overcome Mumbai Customs 4-2 in a MHAL Super League match 2018-2019, and played at the MHAL-Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate.
The youthful Republicans outfit opened the scoring through Pranit Naik in the 24th minute and two minutes later Vaibhav Shende struck the second goal to give his team a 2-0 half-time cushion.
Customs managed to reduce the deficit when Saurabh Singh converted from a penalty corner in the first minute of the second half. But, Republicans once again hit the target when Venkatesh Devkar found the net in the 44th minute. Joshua Vessaokar scored Customs scored second from a short corner in the 53rd minute but their hopes of fighting back were killed when before Shende scored his second and the team’s fourth goal from another field effort.
