DSO schools’ tourneys get pro touch

Starting with their Subroto Mukherjee Cup football tournament in the under-17 and under-14 categories the  Maharashtra government’s DSO (Divisional Sports Office), which conducts various schools tournaments like football, cricket, basketball, table tennis, badminton, kabaddi and chess  will get a professional touch to their these events this year as they have tied up with  Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management, who will run  these seven disciplines at various venues in the suburbs for a period of two years initially.

These  tournaments will see many changes this year in the form of Jerseys/T-shirts etc  to each of the  players across the three age groups. Viz.  boys U-14 and U-17 and girls U-17. There will special stalls for  Refreshment  etc at each of the venues too. Certificates will  be awarded to  players from quarterfinals onwards. There will also be medical facilities at all the venues to cater to injuries etc to players. The DSO Sports authorities and various schools authorities and sports incharges of the various teams, have appreciated these add-ons.

The boys under-17 will be held at SVIS ground, Chembur from July 25. This new set up hopefully will provide a  bigger and better sporting platform for players to enhance their skill as well as to  motivate them to  further showcase their talent.
