It was the tie-breaker, however, which resolved the tie in favour of the former as they won 3-1 in the under-14 group ‘A’ match to make the last 16 of the DSO’s (Divisional Sports Office)’s Mumbai Suburban (Taluka) Football tournament, organized and sponsored by Vision Sports Reconnect and Fairplay Sports Management at St. Francis D’Assisi ground, Borivali, here today.
Another Borivali outfit, St. Lawrence, however, were in their element as they routed Ramniwas Bajaj (Eng) 7-0 with Parth Shah, Nihar Modi and Omi Saniha each figuring among goal-scorers with a brace before their names.The winners, were leading 2-0 at half time. But they went all out to notch up another five goals to end their rivals’s plight.
In other ties, Ryan International struggled to get past Narayan (E-0Techno) by a solitary goal, and Gundecha Education Acvademy scored a goal in each half to defeat Goregaon’s Gokuldham 2-0.
