Dhruv fights back from brink: MCF-TSTTA  TT


DHRUV SHAH, unseeded in the men’s singles, but seeded third in the boys under-19 singles, notched up  impressive  wins to advance into the semifinals of the both the events in the MCF-TSTTA-2nd  District Ranking table tennis tournament, held  at Borivali’s Mandpeshwar Civic Federation Sports Complex here today.

Dhruv’s win in the men’s singles s over seeded Yash Dalvi was thrilling affair as he fought back from the brink in the decider to prevail over extra points as he trumphed 11-9,11-6,13-15, 8-11, 13-11.  While in the boys singles, he was down 0-2, against Dev Hingorany before turning the table on his adversary with a splendid 6-11,5-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-6 win. Earlier too, Dhruv was full stretched by Vishesh Sarda before he prevailed in  five games. . So too,under-17 top seed Yuvraj Yadav who fought back tellingly to down Akansh Sahoo 8-11,11-9, 11-13, 11-8,11-8.

However, in the women’s and girls categories, there was no stopping Divyanshi Bhowmick, the current under-15 national  champion as she made the last four grades in the women’s as well as girls under-19 and  under-15 singles. The girl from Kandivali’s Ryan International , thrashed her rivals in straight games
