Dhruv Das produced some impressive showings and clinched a grand double winning the Sub-junior Boys and Junior Boys singles crowns in the Malabar Hill Club 5-Star Mumbai City District TT Championship 2018, conducted under the auspices of the MCDTTA.

The top seed Dhruv faced quite a stiff challenge from second seed Atharva Kurade in the Junior Boys singles finals. But, he managed to come out trumps winning in four games at 11-5, 11-9, 3-11 and 11-7 win at the Malabar Hill Club.
Earlier in the Sub-junior Boys singles finals, second seeded Dhruv produced a strong determined performance to record a stunning straight games victory over top seed Sameehan Kulkarni. Dhruv won a tight opening game over extra points and having gained in confidence he narrowly won the second before going on to Easily win the third to complete a rewarding 13-11, 11-9 and 11-6 triumph.
In an absorbing a keenly contested Cadet Girls’ singles final, second-seeded Amira Jhaveri slogged it out with number one seed Keisha Jhaveri before emerging victorious by a fighting games scores of 11-7, 3-11, 11-4, 7-11 and 12-10.
Keisha Jhaveri had a disastrous day as she ended up on the losing side in two other finals. The top seed Keisha tamely lost to second seed Nimisha Warang 8-11, 8-11 and 8-11 in the Sub-junior Girls singles final and against tasted defeat in the against Hiya Doshi in the Junior Girls’ singles final. The second-seeded Hiya showed better consistency as compared to the number seed Keisha Jhaveri and coasted to 12-10, 11-8 and 11-6 victory.
