In the finals of Youth Boys’ singles played late evening today , Deepit scored a 4- 2 win over Mumbai City’s Tanmay Rane with the scores  11-5, 12-10, 11-13, 14-12, 12-14, 11-6. Deepit who was more consistent, preferred to play close to the table, with his perfect blocking and using variations in top spin drives and services. Tanmay had a good chance to level the set scores towards the end of the 4th game, which he lost over extra points. He, however took the fifth game over extra points indicating his fighting spirit. But, couldn’t match the steadiness of his  graceful opponent in the sixth game.

One should admire the serenity and patience of Deepit, especially in the exciting semi final match  opposite much superior opponent Raegan Albuquerque from TSTTA, Mumbai. Deepit had almost lost this match in the decider, when he was down 3-10, when Raegan needed just one point to enter finals. Any other player would have given up the chance of winning. But, self confident Deepit kept his cool at this crucial stage and saved 7 match points to win this game and match at 12-10.
