Last year when the MCDTTA Inter Club was played, she had just started playing the game of table tennis leisurely and this year, she got an opportunity to represent her club P.J. Hindu Gymkhana in the 2nd division of Inter club League which began yesterday evening. Aneesha Mirchandani who works for Magnanimous Ventures Pvt. Ltd Mumbai, made her debut in competitive Table Tennis yesterday evening at NSCI, Mumbai.

While representing P.J. Hindu Gymkhana against Procter YMCA, Mumbai, Aneesha lost her first match against Teesha S, but recovered soon to get confidence, after watching her partner Maria D’sa winning against Doel Saha to equalize the set score at 1-1. Partnering with Maria in the third doubles match, Aneesha attacked well , besides cleverly using her anti spin rubber on backhand. Moreover, both Maria and Aneesha being good badminton players, their quick forward-backward footwork helped them to win this important doubles match.
When Maria lost the fourth match to Teesha S, the set score was leveled at 2-2. And this crucial stage, witnessed the great battle between Aneesha and Doel , which stretched to five games. However, in the decider, Aneesha took early lead and keeping herself cool and calm, used her strategies well to force her opponent to commit repeated errors. Aneesha won this game and match to record the first win for her team PJ Hindu Gymkhana.
In the other women’s matches played yesterday evening, Dena Bank with super combination of Mamta Prabhu and Senhorita D’souza scored an easy 3-0 victory over Reserve Bank, in the Women’s first division Inter Office league, while in the Women’s 2nd division Inter Office match BEST beat Indian Oil (HO) 3-1, with Shravani Dhapre winning both her matches.
