Palkan Dave and Aditya Pandya, both of Mumbai Suburban District are the top seeds in the women’s and men’s (above 35) singles categories respectively in the Maharashtra Badminton Association organized Senior State Veteran’s Championship – 2018 co-hosted by Badminton 45 and Bombay Gymkhana and is set to commence from Wednesday, December 12 to 16, 2018.
Linta Mathew also of Mumbai Suburbs is seeded second behind Dave while Abhishek Patil from Nashik District is the second seed in the men’s event.
The five-day tournament has attracted an overwhelming number of 356 entries from shuttlers, men and women, from 35 to 70 years from all across Maharashtra and they will be participating in 39 events. Competitions will be conducted in singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
Hubert Miranda (Mumbai Suburb), Sudam Shahare (Bhandara), Damodar Thombre (Thane) and Shashipal Sulakhe (Pune), are the oldest participants who will be playing the men’s above 70 events.
