The twin strikes from Saumil Damor helped Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana (WCG) coast to a fluent 3-1 win against Rhino SC in a First Division match of the MDFA League 2017-2018 and played at the St. Xavier’s Ground, Parel on Sunday. Eric Dowling got one of the three goals to secure WCG’s win, while Ronald Texaria scored for the losers.
Meanwhile, JMJ Sports Club powered by hat-tricks from strikers Daniel Fernandes and Merwyn Fernandes, went on to score a thumping 7-0 victory over Datta Krida Mandal in a Second Division match. Kevin Barnes netted the seventh goal.
Meanwhile, Sterkem Pharma FC blanked Veera United FC by a convincinhe g 4-0 margin. Nitin Panhale, Mandar Surve, Vishal Rajput and Saurabh Uchil, all netted one goal apiece to seal the win.
In another tall scoring match of the same division, Rudra FA riding on Surendra Shingde’s fine hat-trick outclassed Godrej & Boyce SC 6-0. Abhijith Jadhav netted a brace of goals and Jason Billing got one to complete the job.
