Central Bank of India produced a brilliant combined effort and stormed to a comfortable 3-1 win against Western Railway SA in an Elite Division match of the Rustomjee-MDFA League 2018-2019 and played at the Western Railway ground, Mahalaxmi.
Striker Deepak Pal provided Central Bank with a solid start scoring the opening goal in the very first minute. Western Railway fought on gamely and managed to draw level when Somnath Mondal scored the equalizer in the 56th minute. But, the determined Central Bank outfit were well-served by Yogesh Kadam who struck two goals in the 67th and 80th minutes to seal their win and to collect the full three points.
In another match, Rakesh Patne’s 72nd minute strike helped Mumbai Strikers overcome GM Sports Club 1-0.
At the Cooperage football ground, Millat FC had things much their own way and romped to a 6-1 win against Bombay Muslims. For Millat, Kalpesh Rane scored two goals while Tanzeer Bhojani, Adnan Ishke, Dylan Monteiro, and Aniket Shilpe netted one each while Projot Saini scored Bombay Muslims lone goal.
