Colaba Sports League (CSL) enjoyed a good outing as they defeated Charotar Rukhi Samaj in a Second Division match of the MDFA League 2017-2018 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Tuesday.
The Colaba side dominated play from the start but had to wait till the 20th minute to open the scoring through Aftar Khan and went into the break with a narrow 1-0 win.
In the second half, strikers Amrit Semwal doubled the lead in the 48th minute and Saif Shaikh got the third in the 58th minute.
Earlier, Castle Boys prevailed over Juhu Strikers 5-1 in another match of the same division. Wayne Trinidade scored two goals while Maxie D’Silva, Dean Pereira and Brabourne Rodrigues added one apiece to complete the winning margin.
